Bwolivawo By Sqoop Larma (Lyrics)

Baiby! Baiby!

Bino byensirika nga ndi nawe
Mbeera sinyooma by'oyogera
Mba ndowooza ku byonjagadde ebituufu
Nebimbuza kyenjogera
N'otulo tumbula lwakuba walunjiwa
Ndoota bakunzibako
Bakuwadde ebyo byessirina
Bakututte ng'era ssikyakulabako
Onosonyiwa okustockinga by'okola
Mukwano nkwagala nnyo
Ne ka meter akapima omukwano
Ewange k'agwayo

Bwolivawo! N'omala ondekawo!
Bwolivawo!
N'omala ondekawo!
Bwolivawo, ebya love nga mbita!
Bwolivawo!
N'omala ondekawo!
Bwolivawo!
N'omala ondekawo!
Bwolivawo, obwongo bulinnesiba

Ndi muntu nsobya
Olwolumu onsasira ngako
Osoosa nga mukwano
Ekibi n'okiteeka ewala
Wabula Katonda atona
Bweyabumba gwe n'amala
Yakumpa kweyagala
Abalala bye balwanira
Webale wammegulirako
Mukwano gwo nengulozako
Wampa ebitole byagwo
Mukwaafu ng'amata ga bongo
Kumbe lwennali nsaba essaala
Mukama yaleetamu gwe
Laba bwetu fittinga, tumarchinga
Gwe ssanyu ly'essaala

Bwolivawo! N'omala ondekawo!
Bwolivawo!
N'omala ondekawo!
Bwolivawo, ebya love nga mbita!
Bwolivawo!
N'omala ondekawo!
Bwolivawo!
N'omala ondekawo!
Bwolivawo, obwongo bulinnesiba

Baiby! Baiby!

N'omala ondekawo!
Sqoop Larma Lover Boy!
N'omala ondekawo!

The word “Bwolivawo” in Luganda means “when you leave.” In this song, Sqoop Larma pours out his heart to his lover, telling her that if she ever leaves, he will lose himself completely — even his brain will stop functioning, and love will no longer make sense to him.

Verse 1 – Lost in Her Love

The song begins with Larma explaining how quiet he becomes when he’s with his lover. His silence is not because he ignores her, but because he’s overwhelmed, constantly thinking about the way she loves him. Her beauty leaves him speechless, so much so that he can’t sleep at night, as he dreams of her being taken away from him.

He explains that he sometimes struggles to sleep, worried that wealthy men might offer her the things he cannot afford and she could leave him for them. He admits he’s guilty of “stocking her in everything she does,” but explains it’s only because of love. He even compares his feelings to a love meter that has reached its maximum, showing just how deeply he’s consumed by her affection.

Chorus – Life Without Her

The chorus captures his deepest fear:

  • “Bwolivawo n’omala ondekawo” → “When you leave, you leave me empty.”
  • He admits that if she walks away, he will lose himself, let go of anything related to love, and his mind will shut down.

This repetition in the chorus emphasizes the weight of her presence in his life — without her, everything else collapses.

Verse 2 – Mercy, Faith, and Gratitude

In the second verse, Larma opens up about his flaws. He admits he sometimes makes mistakes but pleads for her mercy, asking her to always keep love at the center and push his shortcomings aside.

He then praises God as the “great decorator,” saying she was created perfectly and then gifted to him — the ultimate answer to his prayers. He thanks her for allowing him to taste the sweetness of her love, comparing it to “bongo,” a type of traditional yoghurt from Western Uganda, made purely by shaking fresh milk in a calabash without water. By using this metaphor, he shows that her love is pure, natural, and refreshing.

Finally, he reflects on how he prayed earnestly for true love, and she came as that answered prayer. Together, they “fit” and “march” in harmony, which he believes was always meant to be.
